Instructions

1) Heat the milk just until scalded.
2) Place bread cubes in a bowl; pour hot milk over bread. Cool.
3) Add the sugar, salt, nutmeg and/or cinnamon, eggs, and raisins.
4) Pour mixture into an 8-inch square baking dish.
5) Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until set. Serve with a dessert sauce or whipped topping.
6) Story: Annie found this recipe looking for ways to use stale bread. Sean was skeptical, but Annie left out the raisins and the dessert was enjoyed by all.
