Recipe: Macerated Strawberries

Instructions
|
1) Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
2) Let stand in the refigerator for at least two hours.
3) Story: Alton Brown uses a whole, full-size bottle of red wine; we use a mini bottle and decrease the sweetness, too, to make it more berry than liquid. We like it over pound cake or shortcake, Alton Brown used it for strawberry trifle, and we think it would also be good warm over ice cream or over pancakes/waffles.
